Buccaneer Beach Bar is another fantastic spot that I can confidently say features the best tacos on the island. It’s always a “must-go” place for us when we visit St. Maarten! Whenever we’re craving tacos, this place consistently delivers. The beachfront seating offers a great atmosphere with excellent service, making every visit enjoyable.
What makes Buccaneer Beach Bar even more special is its lively vibe, enhanced by live music that we truly enjoy. It’s a perfect blend of delicious food, vibrant music, and a stunning beach setting.
Skipjack’s Seafood Grill & Bar
Skipjack’s Seafood Grill & Bar is the place to go if you’re in the mood for a lobster meal. Here, you select your lobster and they cook it exactly the way you like. Although we’ve never ordered the lobster ourselves, as we’re not big lobster eaters, we always indulge in their calamari. It might just be the best calamari on the island—crispy, crunchy, and incredibly fresh.
The chicken salad, while nothing special, is overshadowed by the star of the menu: their clam chowder. It’s wonderfully creamy, rich, and packed with flavor, making it a standout dish. The atmosphere at Skipjack’s is both relaxing and chill, providing a perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. With its lovely water view and laid-back vibe, the restaurant creates an inviting setting that makes every visit enjoyable.

Driftwood Boat Bar is a top-notch lunch spot located on the left side of Maho Beach. This beachfront restaurant is perfect for a delicious meal, whether you’re visiting for lunch or breakfast. Known for its scrumptious fried shrimp, the bar also offers a variety of options including finger foods, pizza, shrimp with rice, ribs, and refreshing beverages. We enjoyed our meal while soaking in the great breeze and vibrant atmosphere. The bar is uniquely shaped like a boat, and the whole interior is super cool, adding to the fun pirate-themed decor. You’re also likely to hear some fascinating pirate stories from the friendly locals.
