Tegenungan Waterfall: How to Get There and What to Expect

Getting to Tegenungan Waterfall is relatively easy, and there are a few different transportation options available. The waterfall is located in the Sukawati district of Bali, Indonesia, approximately halfway between Sanur and Ubud. You can reach it from either of those places in just 20-30 minutes by car or scooter.

If you’re hesitant about driving yourself in Bali, don’t worry – you can always hire a private car and driver. This option is particularly useful if you’re coming from other parts of the island. When we visited Bali, we hired a private driver for a week, and it was the highlight of our trip. Especially if it’s your first time visiting, it’s wise to have a local or tour guide show you around to all the top destinations. They can offer valuable insight and ensure that you have the best experience possible.

If you’re traveling from Ubud, it should take you around 30 minutes to reach the waterfall. From Seminyak or Canggu, expect the drive to be around an hour. Regardless of where you’re coming from, Tegenungan Waterfall is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Bali.

Once you arrive at the waterfall, you’ll need to make your way down a set of over 150 stairs to reach the water’s edge. But the journey is well worth it once you see the natural beauty that awaits you.

The address of Tegenungan Waterfall is: Jl. Ir. Sutami, Kemenuh, Kec. Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80581, Indonesia

Swinging Above the Tegenungan Waterfall

With numerous swings to choose from in Bali, it’s hard not to be tempted to try them all. Nevertheless, the Tegenungan Waterfall swing stands out as an absolute must-try.

The views from the swing are absolutely breathtaking, allowing you to take in the stunning waterfall and listen to the sound of falling water while you swing back and forth. Even though I was a little nervous at first when I tried the swing for the first time, I simply couldn’t resist the urge to give it a go.

Once I was on the swing and saw the gorgeous scenery from above, all my fears melted away and I felt an incredible rush of excitement. The swing experience lasts around 3-5 minutes and costs approximately 45,000 IDR rupiah or around 3 USD.

The staff operating the swing are extremely friendly, and if you’re travelling solo, they’ll even offer to take photos and videos of you while you’re on the swing. Overall, the Tegenungan Waterfall swing is an experience that’s not to be missed.

Tegenungan Waterfall is not only a stunning natural attraction but also a photographer’s paradise, offering a multitude of picturesque locations and Instagrammable opportunities to capture the waterfall’s enchanting beauty.
